If politicians are going to make decisions about disaster funding, insurance regulation, and climate resilience, the least we can do is show up and vote. This hub helps people understand how to register, prepare, and participate in elections that shape those policies.
Securing Our Future provides a voter education and civic participation hub designed to help Americans prepare for upcoming elections and understand how public policy decisions affect insurance markets, disaster preparedness, and community resilience. The platform’s Vote initiative offers information and resources intended to encourage civic engagement and voter participation around issues tied to economic security, disaster recovery, and consumer protections.
The resource explains why elections matter when it comes to insurance regulation, climate risk planning, infrastructure policy, and disaster response funding. Many of the policy decisions that influence these issues are made at the federal and state levels, meaning elected officials can have a major impact on whether communities receive adequate protection against natural disasters, economic shocks, and rising insurance costs.
Through its voter resource page, Securing Our Future encourages individuals to learn about policy issues, understand how insurance and disaster preparedness laws are shaped, and take part in elections that influence these outcomes. The site provides information aimed at helping voters prepare for elections and understand the stakes surrounding policies that affect housing stability, disaster recovery funding, and consumer protections in the insurance industry.
For researchers, activists, and civic organizations working on disaster preparedness, climate resilience, and economic security, the platform can serve as a useful starting point for voter education and policy awareness around insurance and disaster-related legislation.
