Leaving MAGA is a nonprofit organization and support community designed for individuals who have left, or are questioning their involvement in, the Make America Great Again movement. political disengagement, deradicalization, support community, political identity, reconciliation, activism resources, civic engagement Founded in 2024 by former MAGA activist Rich Logis, the organization focuses on providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for people navigating political disengagement, identity shifts, and relationship repair after leaving the movement.
The platform centers heavily on storytelling, featuring firsthand accounts from individuals who have left MAGA and are working to rebuild their perspectives and reconnect with friends, family, and broader communities. These narratives aim to normalize the process of political change while reducing stigma and isolation for those considering leaving.
In addition to personal stories, Leaving MAGA offers guidance and tools for communication, particularly for individuals trying to engage constructively with loved ones who remain in the movement. The organization emphasizes empathy, accountability, and reconciliation, recognizing that leaving a political identity can be emotionally and socially complex.
The initiative operates as both a support network and an advocacy effort, encouraging individuals to reflect on past beliefs, take responsibility for prior actions, and reengage with democratic values. It also highlights the psychological and community-based factors that make political disengagement difficult, positioning itself as an “exit ramp” for those seeking change.
Leaving MAGA represents part of a broader movement focused on political deradicalization, community healing, and rebuilding civic relationships in a polarized environment. While its perspective is clearly oriented toward helping individuals leave the MAGA movement, it provides structured resources for those navigating that transition and for those supporting them.
