Virginia Appalachian People’s Alliance maintains the Virginia ICE Raids & Enforcement Tracker, a community reporting network that documents and shares Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity across Virginia and surrounding areas. The project allows residents, volunteers, and advocates to submit sightings and warnings so immigrant communities can respond quickly and safely.
Local enforcement actions often happen with little public notice. Worksites, apartment complexes, and early-morning residential raids are frequently targeted because communication is limited in those moments. The tracker helps communities bypass that isolation by rapidly sharing information and activating support networks.
This resource is especially useful for:
• immigrant families preparing safety plans
• legal observers and community defense volunteers
• mutual aid groups
• rapid-response networks
• faith-based and community organizations supporting migrants
For organizers, the tool helps identify patterns of enforcement and targeted areas. For families, even a short warning window can allow people to contact attorneys, gather documents, and avoid being forced into legal decisions without representation.
The tracker is part of a broader effort to provide community-based protection, education, and coordination during enforcement operations.
