The Washington Coalition for Open Government (WashCOG) is an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit organization fighting to defend and strengthen public access to government information, transparent decision-making, and accountable public records in Washington State. WashCOG works through legislative advocacy, courtroom intervention, education, and public outreach to ensure that open government laws remain strong and accessible to everyone. From tracking legislation to hosting workshops, publishing guides on public records and open meetings, and offering a Speakers Bureau, the Coalition equips citizens with tools to understand and exercise their right to know what their government is doing.
