We the Geeks, also known as Geeks for America, is a civic advocacy initiative focused on promoting science, technology, and evidence based decision making in public policy and governance. The organization centers its mission on the idea that facts, research, and expert knowledge should guide national priorities, rather than political ideology or misinformation.
The platform highlights the importance of investing in scientific research, technological innovation, and data driven solutions to address major societal challenges such as climate change, public health, and economic development. It explicitly rejects movements that undermine scientific consensus, including climate denial and vaccine misinformation, and advocates for restoring trust in expertise and evidence based institutions.
We the Geeks also engages in civic participation by supporting candidates and initiatives that prioritize science and innovation in policymaking. The organization encourages individuals with backgrounds in science, engineering, and technology to become more involved in public service, elections, and community leadership. This includes promoting “pro science” candidates and increasing representation of technical expertise within government systems.
In addition to advocacy, the platform functions as a public education and engagement tool. It provides a framework for individuals to align around shared values such as critical thinking, problem solving, and long term investment in societal progress. The messaging emphasizes that science and technology are not partisan issues but foundational elements of national strength, security, and innovation.
For resistance networks, civic organizers, and policy focused communities, We the Geeks offers a structured entry point into evidence based advocacy. It is particularly useful for those working at the intersection of science, democracy, and public accountability, providing both a values framework and pathways for civic engagement.
