50501 Community Network

Untitled
  • Description
  • Website

50501 Community Network is a decentralized, grassroots movement organizing across all 50 states to defend democracy, strengthen local communities, and mobilize people through peaceful civic action. The name grew from the movement’s original concept of coordinated action across 50 states through 50 protests on a single day.

Unlike a traditional national organization with centralized leadership, 50501 operates through autonomous, locally led chapters. Individual chapters establish priorities based on the needs of their communities while participating in a broader national network built around shared principles. The movement identifies nonviolence, community led change, transparency, inclusivity, collective liberation, and sustainable resistance among its guiding principles.

The 50501 website serves as both an organizing hub and an action directory. Visitors can locate local chapters, find upcoming rallies and community events, receive action alerts, access organizing resources, and learn how to establish a new chapter. The network hosts demonstrations, meetings, trainings, voter engagement activities, mutual aid efforts, and other community based actions.

The movement’s policy priorities extend across a wide range of democracy and social justice issues. Its published pillars include equal rights, democratic accountability, immigration and human rights, economic justice, criminal justice reform, universal healthcare, education, climate justice, digital rights, privacy, and secular governance.

50501 has participated in major nationwide mobilizations since its launch in 2025, including No Kings demonstrations, May Day actions, federal workforce protests, voter engagement campaigns, and other coordinated events. The organization describes itself as a peaceful, nonviolent movement and states that violence is not tolerated within its organizing network.

For the Resistance Directory, 50501 is a significant political organizing resource for people who want to move from following national events online to participating in organized action within their own communities. Its combination of local chapters, national mobilizations, event listings, organizing resources, and civic engagement tools makes it particularly useful for people looking for concrete ways to participate.
