Grist is a nonprofit, independent online media organization dedicated to climate change reporting, environmental justice coverage, and solutions-oriented journalism. Founded in 1999, it has grown into one of the largest climate journalism newsrooms in the United States, using daily reporting, investigations, features, and visual storytelling to explore how climate change intersects with politics, health, economy, food systems, energy transitions, and social equity — and to highlight practical solutions that can create a more just and sustainable future. Grist’s journalism is offered free without a paywall, reaches millions of readers, and aims to inform, inspire, and mobilize action on the most existential threat of our time.
